Cask Details
This is a bottle I was kindly given by an employee for Glenmorangie, was unlabelled and they knew nothing of it. We will likely never know the source of it, but I like that, it will be a one off and thought a blind review a bit of fun.
There was some smokiness to this dram which made me consider whether it was possibly an Ardbeg rather than Glenmorangie as Ardbeg is owned by the same group.

As soon as you lift the glass there is a smoky, peaty whiff in the air!
Let it linger and the peat makes way for hits of pear drop and orange citrus tantalising to smell.
Taste
The peaty smoke is first with a hint of black pepper, after the initial taste it turns to almost peppercorn sauce and going down is beautiful.
Finish
The finish is nice and long without being overpowering and stays with you almost like a peppery espresso.
