Explorer Series Volume 2
The second in the explorer series from Arran Distillery is the Lochranza Castle bottle.
The Explorer series exists to show off the Isle of Arrans many wonderful views, this one to the north of the island close to the distillery is of the ancient Lochranza Castle.
The whisky itself is a 21 year old which was matured in Sherry Hogshead and finished in Amontillado Sherry Casks and as with the other explorer series bottles is a limited 1 off run of 9000 bottles worldwide.

Nose

Very sweet on the nose, Caramel and brown sugar.
Taste
Thick sweetness of caramel on the tongue as well along with typical notes of citrus and pineapple.
Finish
Quite a smoky, spicy finish with a hint of fruit.
