Explorer Series Volume 1
The first in the explorer series from Arran Distillery is the Brodick Bay bottle.

The Explorer series exists to show off the Isle of Arrans many wonderful views, this one is one of the most popular as coming from the mainland in Ardrossan it is the first thing visitors see.

The whisky itself launched in 2018 is a 20 year old expression which was matured in Bourbon and Sherry Butts before being finished in Oloroso Butts and is a limited 1 off run of 9000 bottles worldwide.

The explorer series looks to have legs for being an extremely popular bottle, mainly down to the great whisky, beautiful bottles, lovely tin boxes and matching tin signs to go along with them.

Nose

Arran_18YO-17JUL19_800x (1)_edited.jpg

Lots of sweetness on the nose, red fruits as well and lots of oatiness, almost reminds me of a Jam Sandwich, let it linger and you can smell some of the citrus and more fruity notes that go into the taste.

Taste

Some dark fruits on the taste with a sweetness of honey which turns to a spicy and cinnamon taste going down. Lots of Citrus in the mouth which gives a nice refreshing taste.

Finish

A lingering taste of dark chocolate and clove. The clove gives it a nice long finish and can taste all the dark fruits and citrus going down.
