Cask Details
When Arran Distillery opened it's doors in 1995 there were some obvious milestones they wanted to reach, first release, 10, 15,18,21 and now in 2020 we have a limited first release of their 25 year old offering.
this is a huge milestone as over the past few years Arran has become a favourite with many and having a 25 year old as now part of their core bottlings is pretty huge.
Limited to around 3000 bottles per year worldwide means it still has a limited felling to it.
Bottled @ 46% ABV
Non-Chill Filtered
No Additional Colouring
Matured in 65% Bourbon Casks and 35% Sherry Casks then finished for a year in 1st fill sherry hogsheads, really brings out something special in this dram.
This bottle was highly anticipated with collectors and sold out relatively quickly.
Nose
Beautifully strong nose with Oak undertones at the bottom, getting sweeter notes of Cherries and Blackberries.
Taste
Not quite the usual Arran citrus notes on the tongue, definitely some orange and pineapple but slightly overpowered with heavier taste of crème brulee with honey and an ever slight sense of spice.
Finish
Wonderfully long finish with that spice lingering and the hint of honey from the taste becoming stronger nearer the end.
